Overview

Progressive Focus is a Pomodoro / focus timer app for iOS and macOS. This Privacy Policy describes what data the app handles and how it is stored.

Short version: Progressive Focus does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data in-app. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. All your work data stays on your device. The only channel through which you may share data with us is if you choose to email support — see “Support communications” below.

Support communications

If you email us at pprzybyla321@gmail.com (for bug reports, feature requests, or questions), we will receive whatever you choose to include in your message — typically issue details, descriptions of steps you took, and any screenshots, screen recordings, or logs you attach. This information is used solely to reply to you and, when relevant, to diagnose and fix the issue you reported. Support messages are retained in the support inbox for as long as needed to resolve the issue and for a reasonable follow-up window afterwards. We do not sell, share, or use this information for advertising. Aggregated, non-identifying insights (e.g. “several users reported X”) may inform future product decisions.

Data we do not collect

Progressive Focus does not collect, track, or transmit:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone, address)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, advertising IDs, IDFV for tracking)
  • Location data
  • Contacts, calendar, photos, or any other system data
  • Third-party analytics or tracking SDKs are not used

Apple's App Store Privacy “Nutrition Label” for Progressive Focus reflects this: no data is collected.

Website analytics

This privacy policy covers the Progressive Focus iOS and macOS app. The Progressive Focus website at progressivefocus.com uses Vercel Analytics for anonymous traffic metrics. No cookies are set and no personal data is collected. The app itself does not use any analytics — that statement above still holds.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following locally on your device, in Apple's standard app sandbox (CoreData + UserDefaults):

  • Your focus sessions (start time, duration, associated project)
  • Your projects (names, colors)
  • Your preferences (theme, sound, notification settings)
  • Trial start date — used to determine when the 7-day free trial ends
  • In-App Purchase receipts — managed by Apple StoreKit

This data is stored locally and readable only by the Progressive Focus app and its app extensions (such as the iOS widget and Live Activity) within the same App Group on your device. For example, the trial start date is mirrored into the shared App Group container so the widget process can read it without a round-trip through the main app. It is not uploaded to any server operated by us.

In-App Purchases

Progressive Focus offers a one-time “Lifetime” In-App Purchase via Apple StoreKit. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Apple — we do not receive or store your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Restoring a previous purchase is handled by Apple's StoreKit and does not transmit data to us.

iCloud sync

Progressive Focus v1.0 does not sync your data across devices. A future version may introduce optional sync via Apple iCloud (CloudKit). When that feature ships, this Privacy Policy will be updated. If enabled, sync would use Apple's iCloud infrastructure — data would be encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, and we would not have access to it.

Children

Progressive Focus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If a parent believes their child has provided information in error, please contact us.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date at the top of this document.
